Raised in Junction City, AR, Glen, along with his wife and two daughters, now reside in St. Peters, MO. Native southerners, they have been truly blessed with the opportunity to experience the Midwest beauty and culture.
Glen’s interest for the arts began at an early age. Like many young artists, he started with coloring books before moving on to sketchpads. Uncertain about art as a career, Glen received a BBA in Accounting from the University of Monroe (formerly Northeast Louisiana University) and his passion for the arts took a backseat to a briefcase and paperwork.
In the summer of 1994, Glen took an interest in a new medium – photography. Inspired by his brothers’ interest in photography, he also began shooting. Glen is a self-taught photographer who enjoys the excitement that comes from peering through a viewfinder in search of the photograph that stirs one’s emotions.
After 22 years as a businessman, Glen faced an unexpected challenge in 2007 – corporate downsizing. A devout Christian, he knew that this departure from the corporate world was not his employer’s decision but God’s decision. A chapter in one’s life ends and a new chapter begins.
Glen Oak Studio is the new chapter in Glen’s life. With the support of his wife, daughters, family and friends, Glen is pursuing his love for the arts that he resisted years ago.
Inspired by the words “Jesus Loves You” carved in an old oak tree and his name, “Glen”, which means “valley”, the name Glen Oak Studio was born. As much as photography is a part of his life, he is not limited to one medium. He continues to draw and is exploring the wonderful world of pen & ink, watercolor and digital art.
